Florida's First Lady, kicked off the year-long centennial celebration of artist Salvador Dalí

    Florida's First Lady, Columba Bush kicked off the year-long centennial celebration of artist Salvador Dalí in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the Salvador Dalí Museum, as reported on floridahispanicheritage.com. The First Lady is the honorary chair of the 2004 Salvador Dalí Centennial Celebration Committee.

“It is an honor to be here today to kick off the Salvador Dalí Museum’s year-long celebration of the birth of Salvador Dalí,” Mrs. Bush said. “Dalí’s influence on the art world is one that will never be forgotten and I look forward to highlighting all that he accomplished.”

In addition to St. Petersburg's Dalí Museum, the Dalí Foundation in Spain (Fundación Gala-Salvador Dalí), the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, Italy, the Boijman's Museum in Rotterdam, the Caixa Foundation and the Reina Sofia in Spain, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, will all be official exhibition venues during the year-long international 2004 Salvador Dalí Centennial Celebration.
